Discussion music What I wonder about: Would it be possible to have a jam-session on skype and stream it so that everybody could listen to it on internet-radio? Having a 24 hour jam-session-stream for all the three days of the wiki-Woodstock would be cool. MattisManzel
ArnaudFontaine showed me a way to exchange some Midi files as BrianEno? made it 30 years ago. Think the SoundLanguage? is very cool. In Quebec, MarioAsselin talked about organizing a GarageBand? party. Seems it could be shared to imagine our Inter-wistros jam-bands ? – ChristopheDucamp
A Garage Band is one of the most difficult settings. The Instument with the highest natural volume are the drums, they determine a pretty high working volume. To hear something to play along with, like other musicians online, you’d have to either turn up the monitor pretty high (feedback and volume balance problems are preprogrammed) or work with headphones (which feels lousy when playing). What we tried was an english Guitarplayer, a drummer from Michigan tapping chopsticks on the table and me playing harmonica. The volume balance and sound quality of the recording was astonnishing good. The latency is a problem when playing uptime and tight rythmical stuff I guess. Ambient and free I suppose is easier.
But why not also transmitting entire concerts, live from the garage bands practize cellar? MattisManzel
