Instructions for copying parts of the empty-wiki over to your new oddwiki to get going with a wiki-netified and blikified oddwiki faster
You see all pages on this wiki by clicking the magnifying-glass up to the right without entering text to search for.
It’s the most convenient way to copy over the css first. Then copy special. You can create most other pages from the links on it. More can be found on Administration to the right.
A likely problem
I can’t create a page locally but instead am taken to a page of that name on another wiki.
When trying to create a page by clicking a link on another page it’s possible that you are redirected to an existing page of the desired title but on a different wiki, like on community-wiki. This is due to the sister-links feature that automatically redirects you to other wikis (as defined on the NearMap and the InterMap) if that page doesn’t exist on your wiki. In that case you find a line starting “Create this page locally:” at the very end of the page that the link to the page you want to create is on. Click the desired page-name in the lowest line and you will be taken to the new empty local page.
To be copied over to your wiki entirely or partly are
1.) css
- replace “the URL for your 1280 x 192px banner goes here” with the URL. Please possibly use an external host (like Flikr) for your banner and do not upload it to the wiki. Let’s keep eviteable traffic low, so more wikis can be happily hosted on oddwiki. Thanks.
div.header span.gotobar a.Title - Change the position of the title of the wiki in the banner by modifying the values for top and left, change the color of the title by modifying the hex value.
2.) special
- replace EmptyWiki in “support-page for this wiki” with the CamelCase title of your wiki

- replace [[instructions]] with the name of the central topical page of your wiki. Examples: On city-wikis it’s the name of the city. On center-wikis (creating a communication platform for other wikis) it’s the list of wikis. Think about it a bit before creating it. This page links to the topical pages of your wiki and takes away “topical load” from the frontpage / blog.
Replace empty-wiki with the clean linked title of your wiki. It will show up in the banner.
- HomePage
- To redirect to the Frontpage put “REDIRECT #FrontPage” in the first line only.
- InterMap
