UseCases

These are some ways we think WikiFeatures can be useful, and some audiences we try to address with this site.

 * For '''WikiEngine developers''', to see what features exist in other Wiki engines, how they're implemented, the pros and cons of implementing them, etc.
 * For '''Wiki administrators''', to choose a Wiki engine based on features they want or need. ("I want AppendOnly. What engines implement this?")
 * For '''Wiki administrators''', to get full descriptions of the features available in the wiki engine they're using, and pros and cons of enabling or disabling them. Not at the software documentation level ("This the config file entry to set AppendOnly support.") -- that's the problem of the individual Wiki engine developers. Rather, at the level of how the features affect collaboration and community.
 * For '''Wiki communities''', to help in making community decisions about enabling or disabling features of the Wiki engine hosting their community. So often, Wiki communities re-hash arguments about a feature (UserBan, for example) without understanding how the feature has worked for other communities, or how it hasn't.
 * For '''Wiki engine users''' (admins, members of communities) making feature requests for particular Wiki engines. "I'd like to have this feature in this engine. This page on WikiFeatures shows the ups and downs of having it."
 * For '''Wiki theorists''', to launch trial balloons for ideas for features of Wiki engines, and get critical feedback on the idea.
