Odd-wiki is a wiki-hive.
odd-wiki-hive: home page
The feature of wiki is that everybody may join in. Oddmuse - the wiki software we are using - does not require a registration for that. The “wiki-way” shall also be applied to the creation of new wikis. No questions about the purpose of a new wiki, no waiting for a confirmation.
Instead:
Ready!
That is a wiki-hive.
You find many oddwikis on the odd-wiki-list: hive-list.
The community-wiki is the idea-forge the odd-wiki-hive emerged from.
In 2004 Alex Schröder installed the first odd-wiki version on the taoriver.net server of Lion Kimbro. Since end of 2004 Mattis Manzel makes available numerous wikis in the odd-wiki-hive. 2005 the hive moved to communitywiki.org and Christophe Ducamp started on “bliki” (a blog / wiki hybride). In 2006 the wiki-net came into being. Radomir Dopieralski technically gets his hands dirty, solves problems and beautifies the interface.
…, and there are others more who participate to the odd-wiki-hive.
We are friends - wiki-geeks all of us - who know each other from the net and who like to work together on something that is for everybody.
All odd-wikis are and stay free of charge. You are authorized to download a wiki whenever and migrate it to your own server. The odd-wiki-hive creates costs to its operator - Alex Schröder - but that is not much money. Should odd-wiki become noticeably more traffic-intensive and thus more cost-intensive we’d welcome volunteer support. But currently that is no topic.
We’re pleased about every new wiki. We like to help when there are questions or wishes and we’re interested in improvements and proposals on how to improve odd-wiki.
On the odd-wiki-center-en is the right place to talk about the odd-wiki-hive in English.
No, the odd-wiki-hive is not alone in wikilandia. There are plenty of other wiki-hives. See the hive-wiki.
