For some reason, I got it in my head to make an SVG story about wiki. It’s here: StraightenThePaintingImage.

Like MarkDilley said on WhyWikiWorks, I think this should be our first blog entry. {;D}=

We don’t have a process yet for our external blog, but we have a general consensus: We talk about an entry, and if we like it, we post it.

So here’s what I think our blog entry would be:

Our very own EvanProdromou made this beautiful comic (We Love VisualLanguage!), describing WhyWikiWorks:

StraightenThePaintingImage

As with all our content, the image is under the CommuntyWikiLicense?, meaning that you can use this under the Creative Commons ShareAlike licence, or the GNU Free Documentation License, version 1.2 or higher.

I did a German translation and would like to pass it on in printed form. But it’s not clear to me how to do this properly. Would a footer Text ”(.) License: Creative Commons Common Deeds, Evan Prodromou” be sufficient? (.) = Creative Commons Logo

I think it would need to at least identify, by a string, which of the CC licenses it is.

I’d like to add that- our OneBigSoup:LocalNames work is going really well, and we’ve found a WordPress hacker who wrote a plug-in to use it.

The skinny of it?

The CommunityWiki blog will automatically link to CommunityWiki pages. :)

Check out the CommunityWiki LocalNames Description file, which, if nobody minds, I’d like to bring over to this wiki. :)

Soon I’ll make one for Meatball, so it’ll automatically NearLink to Meatball as well.

You can even use it from IRC; Our bot understand the local names network, and can hop from namespace to namespace to namespace. In wiki terms, it’s sort of like if you had an InterLink that could hop two, three, even four wiki namespace.

But anyways.

Our blog. :)

If nobody objects within 24 hours, or proposes alternatives- I’ll post. If you want to get something into this posting window, post a note. :)

yeah! cool!
