ForAdaByDavidM

Ada loved to drive. On occasions she would pick me up at the airport and we would drive to the downtown. She prided herself in knowing every short cut and back road into the core.

Afterward, Ada mentioned on many occasions how much she missed driving. Initially, she would not accept that driving was impractical and impossbile for her. As she accepted her plight you could see the sadness in her eyes and feel it in her heart that something so important to her and something she, and we all, take so much for granted, would be missing from her life forever.

My first meetings with Ada were to discuss the project. Often the meeting would go on for a couple of hours and I would describe the requirements and changes. Of course Ada would need to know why this and why that. I found it odd that Ada seldom took notes. We’d be finished the meeting, and she would have a mostly blank piece of paper. But she understood what was needed, and the work always got done. The difference between the before and after Ada were shocking.

I know the last ten years have not been Ada’s best years. I hope she soon finds happiness and peace.

God bless
