the ting-way
Bilsener the first day
sh: I remember this guy from XKCD was talking about an experiment they did. They wanted to check how much brain activity and conscious thinking is needed to solve a Rubik’s Die. He can solve it pretty fast, I think under one minute – you can learn that if you train some. Anyways, they set up an experiment: drink a shot of vodka, solve the die, drink another shot, solve it again, and so on, measurig the time all the time. They came to a conclusion, that solving it requires very little consciousness – it’s easier than finding it after you drop it on the floor. Because at some stage he couldn’t find it anymore
What’s “Bilsener”?
ma: Beer brewed with Bilsenkraut (henbane), a strong halluzinogenic drug. Das Deutsche Reinheitsgebot, 11. Century, about brewing beer only using three ingredients: “water, hops, malt” is about stopping to put drugs into it. They opened tings serving it on the first day. Day two and three were for talking. At least according to a Roman Historian having written something down about the habits of the Germanian people.
sh: Hmm… Absynt?
ma: Henbane is a solanaceus herb. The witches used these too. Hardly controllable stuff - people go insane for a day or two (or the rest of their life).
sh: Hen bane? Used to banish hens? Ah, it’s called “szalej” in Polish. “SzaleĹ„stwo” means “insanity”. A mighty poison. I think it’s also known as “wilczy mlecz”, which means “wolf’s marrow”.
ma: There are some more such beasts growing on our meadows. The strongest is Eisenhut (wolfsbane, aconite), 6 mg kill you.
sh: Yeah, that whole family of weeds is dangerous, even the smell. It’s inadvisable to keep them at home.
ma: Say ting, as “an unconventional approach in trying to find interesting communication”, is ok. I do not recommend Bilsener. People who’d like to on a several day wiki-Woodstock: ok. But they should have an extra wiki for such experiments I suppose.
