TrollArrival

What happens when a troll arrives?

I feel like I’m being attacked without understanding why. In general I feel that as a member of an established community it is my right to be resistant to change and new ideas. That’s why we have an established community. On the individual level, people have the right to join and leave. As guests and individual visitors it is however presumptuous to think that not following established protocol should be granted acceptance.

To agree to the definitions and rules of a community is the first step in joining it. If you don’t agree to them, why should you be joining them or disrupting them? I don’t go around disrupting communities I don’t agree with. And there are many I don’t agree with!

Thus, as far as I’m concerned, challenging our terminology without contributing significantly in return is disruptive. It’s painful and I would like to avoid it. It’s specially painful if we’re operating in a wiki where we’re building a LinkLanguage. Changing established terminology affects pages that link to the changed pages.

I’m not up to be challenged without a reward.

I do not welcome trolls. I’d rather have a hibernating community than a disrupted one.

I basically agree.

This is a voluntary group of friends. Individuals may join or leave. In the GuestRole or VisitorRole, it is important that people come in a spirit of friendliness and cooperation.
