The idea of speaking like a madman in the hopes that your audience has enough CommonContext to understand you is a (new?) but fairly common idea, but I don't think it has a name yet. Lion thought of a good one, though, which we maybe should adopt. To speak like this is to "speak Edge".
I think the above quote from Lion is a work of art, also. It's going in my quotes book. -- BayleShanks
Auh! I'm so embarrassed! But I'm also really flattered.
Embarrassed, in particular, because I realized what was wrong with the e-mail I sent to Aaron: It's too long! Which makes me think I need to write another entry, for CategoryDiscussion: KeepTheFirstMessageShort?.
It'll go like this: "When you are writing to someone for the first time, introducing yourself, or some idea, keep the e-mail short. blah blah blah blah blah." -- LionKimbro
