MultilingualTheuthWiki

NicolasMontessuit : hi, I am currently developping a multilingual wiki of a brand new shape.

You do not have to translate your texts, you just type what you want to say in your language, and the wiki automatically translates it in the language of the front-end user.

Example :

if I type in my page Hello, folks ! this will print “Hello, folks !” whatever the language of the front-end user is.

But, if I type in my page \traduire {Hello, folks !} it will translate “Hello, folks !” in the language of the front-end user (french, deutsch, chinese…)

[traduire is the french word for translate]

A demo sample is available at : http://bluemoon.tuxfamily.org/PresentationDuLangageTheuth.html

(All of the software is coded in a language I invented, which I call the Theuth language)

To have fun and play with the software : go to this page : http://bluemoon.tuxfamily.org/wikk.php?action=lire&page=tout+serait+simple and play with the Translate button (Traduire) in the bottom-right corner of the page. You can print the page in french, english, german and italian ! (Be patient, though, it is rather long, because of the weakness of the hébergeur : 30 seconds of delay to compute a page) – NicolasMontessuit

the world needs theuth . i’m shure, google will hire you, if you can demonstrate it to google .

btw. couldn’t translate the german text of 2006-11-01 . could you do it for me?

on http://bluemoon.anoptique.net/wikk.php \le \mot Tarte \commence \par te ?

Thanks for all, sigi !

Here is a “power-point-like” set of pages to explain Theuth, but it is in french… When I have time, I finish it (it is not yet complete) and I translate it in english… I gonna see your text tomorrow, now I must sleep ! :-)

The power-point pages : http://bluemoon.tuxfamily.org/PointPuissantTheuth1.html

more, more!

Nice job Nicolas. Eager to see this “point-puissant” in real life. Could be on topic for our wiki-meetup tonite. MultilingualWikis? remain on topic for our WikiSchool-meetup. Let’s say also that all community-wikers and french WikiBikers are naturally invited to join us during a WikiTing to be opened here.

In order to complete the Theuth project, I designed a calendar of goals to be attained. Here it is, roughly :

- 30 december 2006 : the Theuth code must have been rewritten in C++ at this date… currently it is in PHP, which is way less fast, and use way more memory…

- 10 january 2007 : I must have written two scientific articles to explain Theuth by this date… One will be publish on HAL, the other will be presented to RECITAL semminary of ATALA, in Toulouse, France. The goal of this is to make Theuth known to linguists, to convince them of the innovation in it… and to seduce Google officials…

- 20 june 2007 : date of the seminary… I must have done so much work at this date, so as to convince even dunces… Then, at this date, I should gain the first benefits of my projects.

- 10 september 2007 : this is the date I should launch the first Theuth wiki in real size…

Stay tuned ! --NicolasMontessuit aka Escape

NEW!! : Theuth language can also translate natural language such as english or french into mathematic formulas…

Take a look at : http://bluemoon.tuxfamily.org/wikk.php?action=lire&page=test+fml

and change the language to “formalisme math.” (this means “mathematical formalism”). You will have a logic formula as mathematician and logicians and semantic-web fans like it.

So, Theuth can be used to parse, generate, emulate and even replace Semantic Web !! --esc
