I enabled referrer tracking for Community Wiki. It works as follows: When somebody visits a page coming from another wiki, then Oddmuse will visit the remote site and check whether there is in fact a link to the current page. If so, then we add the remote site to the list of referrers, and at the sime time we remove all referrers older than 24h, and if there are still more than fifteen entries, we remove older referrers until we have but 15 left.
This means that we only get to see referrals from links that people are actually following. If there is a link from some site to Community Wiki but nobody has followed it in the last 24h, it won't appear on the list.
You can see the list of all referrers, too:
In order to block links from search engines and the like, we can add regular expressions to ReferrerFilter. That page is usually editable only by administrators, but I unlocked it.
See Oddmuse:Automatic Link Back.
