(from part of MeatBall:RadicalInclusiveness)
It is interesting to look at cases when OpenProcess maybe can't be used.
For example, let's say that you think that person A is causing some sort of problem for a community. Let's say that the nature of the problem is such that it is insulting to say that A is causing it (like, "I think A is incompetant and A's participation is holding us back"). How to discuss the problem with other members of the community?
- You could publically say, "A is causing this problem", and then talk about it. But this is insulting. But in general, on online communities, insulting comments are considered FlameBait and are discourages and/or removed.
- You could not mention A specifically in public. "Some members of the community are holding us back through incompetance". This violates AvoidObliqueReferencesToPeople.
- You could not discuss the problem publically at all, but instead discuss it privately with other community members. But this is a BackRoomDecision. (this is the usual human solution)
- Furthermore, in the particular case of MeatballWiki and CommunityWiki, it doesn't work because these communities specifically want to discuss community dynamics.
- The community could allow senior members to insult people without considering it FlameBait, but to consider it FlameBait if junior members or guests insult anyone. But this is a StratifiedCommunity.
